foretaste (n.)

中古英语 for-， fore-，源自古英语 fore-，常用 for- 或 foran-，来自 fore（副词和介词），在古英语中像其他日耳曼语言一样用作前缀，表示“在时间、等级、位置等方面之前”，或指代前部或最早的时间。

14世纪初，“品尝的行为”，来自古法语 tast “触觉”（现代法语 tât），源自 taster（参见 taste（v.））。从14世纪后期开始，“一小部分给予”的意思也出现了； 还有“感知事物味道的能力或感官”； 还有“味道，美味”。

“审美判断，辨别和欣赏卓越之物的能力”首次出现在1670年代（比较法语 goût，德语 geschmack，俄语 vkus 等）。
