| 词源 | O. Henry redux. Another story about the O. Henry pen name claims that the author was imprisoned for embezzlement and was employed in the prison pharmacy. There he used the medi- cal reference work U.S. Dispensatory, which listed in its pages the name of French pharmacist Étienne-Ossian Henry. From this name he took the pseudonym O. Henry that he used to conceal his true identity when he began writing his first stories. |
