词汇 all wool and a yard wide
词源
all wool and a yard wide. Dating back at least to the late 19th century, this expression may have originated during the Civil War, when shoddy, cloth made from reprocessed wool and supplied to the Union Army, often literally unraveled on a wearer’s back.
