词源	cowabunga! Cowabunga! has recently come to be used as a general cry of delight, due to its popularization by the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Bart Simpson of television fame. An earlier TV character, Chief Thunderthud of the Howdy Doody Show, used the expression in the 1950s, and it was picked up by surfers in the 60s.
