词源 | bouncer; checker-out. The American bouncer, for “a person who acts as a guard in a disco, nightclub, brothel, or bar, some- one who bounces out unruly people,” dates back to Civil War days. Checker-out is the British term for the same, but it seems to have been coined later, in about 1880. |
