词源 | myself am Hell. This expression is from English poet John Milton’s Paradise Lost (1667) and is fully, “Which way I fly is Hell; myself am Hell.” In the same poem Milton wrote, “The mind is its own place, and in itself, can make a heaven of hell, a hell of heaven.” Earlier, in Religio Medici (1642), Sir Thomas Browne wrote, “The heart of man is the place the devils dwell in: I feel sometimes a hell within myself.” |
