词源	mustard gas. The first gas used in World War I. The oily vola- tile liquid blistered the skin, damaged the lungs, and often caused blindness or death. Introduced by the Germans in 1915, it was named “mustard gas” after its mustardlike odor and the taste it left on the tongue. It is scientifically called dichlorodie- thyl sulfide.
