| 词源 | apricot. The Romans called this fruit praecoquum, or “early ripe.” From there the word entered Arabic as alburquq and went into Portuguese as albricoque, whence it come into En- glish as apricock. By the 18th century the shears of prudery had pruned the word from apricock to apricot. |
