词源	lad [ME] Like boy, the word lad appeared from nowhere in the early Middle Ages. By the mid 16th century it was being used for ‘a boisterously spirited young man’, and laddism* was first mentioned in the 1840s. A young woman who is a bit of a lad has been a ladette since around 1995.
