词汇 | yob |
词源 | yob [M19th] This is an example of back slang, in which people say words as though they were spelled backwards. It is a reverse form of boy, and originally, in the mid 19th century, simply meant ‘a boy or youth’. Now a yob is a rude, noisy, or aggressive one. |
